As the fourth largest freight port in the UK, the biggest in Wales and the most prominent on the west coast, Milford Haven is set in the heart of the only Coastal National Park in Great Britain.
The Milford Haven waterway is the largest estuary in Wales. Its sheltered, tidal waters are surrounded by a diverse 200 mile coastline providing habitats for an abundance of wildlife.
Leaving Padstow and Rick Stein’s lip smacking fish and chips behind, Nick will embark on Leg 3 of his voyage. This will require an almost true Northerly course, passing the Bristol Channel to
starboard and the Gower Coast and Pembrokeshire Peninsular dead ahead. Finally, the impressive entrance to Milford Haven should allow a straightforward route into port.
