Holyhead is the largest town on the island of Anglesey and is perhaps best known for being a busy ferry port running ferries to Dublin and Dun Laoghaire in the Irish Republic.

The New Harbour provides 650 acres of sheltered deep water. The Breakwater, which is an outstanding example of Victorian engineering, was built in the 1860's and runs over 1.75 miles from the shore to provide shelter for the New Harbour.

Out of Milford Haven, St Davids Head is rounded allowing passage North through Cardign Bay and finally Caernarfon Bay towards the Isle of Anglesey and Holyhead. Viligilance to steer
clear of the ferries before re- fuelling and tying up for the night will wrap up Leg 3. Local fishing grounds are reputed to be very good so a trip out in the RIB may be required to catch supper!
