Falmouth is a bustling commercial port which is strongly influenced by its maritime history. The Town offers a wide range of amenities and provides the perfect base for visiting small craft wishing to explore the Estuary.

Falmouth Harbour, including the Carrick Roads, is reputed to be the third largest natural harbour in the world.

The first leg of the Round Britain challenge is a relatively short 80 mile run from Brixham to Falmouth. After leaving port, Reel Estate will round Start Point and head west, passing Salcombe,
Plymouth and Fowey. Four hours later the course will change to north west  around St. Anthonys Head and with St. Mawes to starboard the welcome site of Falmouth Marina will beckon.
