The Isle of Man lies in the Irish Sea, between England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. The thriving east coast town of Douglas is the island's capital and also the main Manx port. The hub of much island activity, it offers a great variety of visitor facilities.

The Isle of Man’s first marina is also based in Douglas and was opened during 2001, with a second phase of pontoons completed in the autumn of 2006.

Nick is hoping that the Irish sea will allow a fair passage north for the 55 mile Leg 6 to the Isle of Man and has his fingers crossed that Douglas control will provide a berth in the inner harbour right
next to the town to enable him to replenish the larder. Nick has not visited the Isle of Man previously, so he intends to utilise the steam railway, bus and trams for a little exploration before his departure.
